Default A Guild Wars Acting Troupe? oO

Hehe, inspired by Gi Shin Toi Dan and his storytellings by the fire in Gunnar's Hold, and for my boredom and need of some interaction, I was wondering if anyone, anyone at all would be interested in putting together some sort of acting/theatre troupe. I wouldn't mind reforming my currently dying/dead guild into just a roleplay guild, but people from different guilds could still participate (in fact it might be better, gives more "stages" ;D explained further below)

Basically, I was thinking that guild halls could serve as the stages and the acting is done during a "scrimmage." This allows for possible fight scenes and if actors were limited to at most 7 people (there has to be a narrator, so technically 8), then there can be at least 8 viewers (less actors, can fill in more spots). Actors could split up to four and each take a group of viewers.

If there were fight scenes, someone from that team should at least have rebirth so we won't have to wait for the actor to res at the timer. Or he could stay dead and just lay there the whole time xD

Everything would have to be talked through local chat, but I doubt there would be super long lines that would set off the flooding filter..except for maybe the narrator.

So how do you bring non-guildies to the guild hall? Invites. As long as there are one or two people from the actual guild to initiate the scrimmage battle, anyone including guests can participate. People could pay for their invite as a sort of "admission" fee and it could range from 50g to the full 100g. If you actually went for profit then maybe 150g >> But somehow I doubt people would really want to pay to see people roleplay so I would be prepared to cough up the easily obtainable 100g xD Could always ask for tips though ;D

And there's my crazy out of the norm idea o_O And I have no idea how well received it would be. I would imagine that the skits would be based on actual Guild Wars lore and shouldn't be more than 10 minutes. And there would obviously be a script writer somewhere o_o;

But I just wanted to see what other people think before actually doing anything and offer up any suggestions. Just no flames

Edit:

And I'm not sure if this is the right place, but I figured it was close enough o_o Roleplaying and all that and I'm not trying to recruit or anything xD;

Thumbs up /ponder

hm, interesting concept ..
have not come across many RolePlays, most by accident when crossing into International Zones .. they seem to run a bit like radioplays and are always a refreshing change ~

~ what your suggestion is offering that is different, is the option of Combat in the play using Scrim .. and with a more controlled environment/audience

I think, to start with, doing some RP in less populated zones (less chatter) is the way to go;
I think for scrim version, it may be better left as a treat for the "groupies", and of course waive any fees, it's the sorta thing I'd do for fun :}

i agree with the fees part :3 it was just an answer for any people who for some odd reason get annoyed for having to cough up the 100g for anyone who would want to watch.

and yes, the whole scrim thing would probably be for later on xD I'd imagine it would start within towns or even outside in the fields. It would just then limit it to the 4-6-8 person party, so I was thinking of the scrim as enabling the number of actors necessary as well as actually have a decent amount of viewers.

Also, in the long run, if this ever happened, it could be possible to run more than one "play" "skit" what have you xD at once.

Again, it's just an idea to throw out there to give people some different entertainment. I'm sure it would be more appealing for the halloween fest coming up at the end of the month (pumpkin heads :3) but i doubt it would be done in time xD
